Similar to other hot spots like Hampstead, which have been swallowed up as a result of London’s expansion, Wimbledon (and Southfields) has also managed to retain its green spaces and charm. Large freehold houses and large gardens predominate.
Parkside was recently (December 2010) cited as being the most expensive road in the whole of England. Clearly the Lawn Tennis Association and the popularity of the annual event make this location a winner.
But like Richmond, it is the combination of open fresh air, green spaces, and the proximity of London that gives Wimbledon the best of both worlds. Popular with UK buyers and international buyers alike.
