The Country
Berkshire Property
From a residential property perspective, Berkshire can be divided into two contrasting areas. The east is dominated by the urban sprawl from London and while some pockets of unspoilt countryside still exist much of it can be affected by the Heathrow flightpath. High premiums apply to the Thames Valley and those properties with direct access to the river itself particularly around Henley-on-Thames. Further west along the Thames Valley from Reading to Newbury and Hungerford, the country is more open and yet commuting times still excellent into London.
London by road:
Most of West Berkshire is within 75 minutes. The M3 (convenient for Bagshot) and M4 (accessed at Maidenhead, Reading and Newbury) goes straight to Heathrow Airport and London.
London by rail:
Reading is 30 minutes from Paddington, and all major towns are served by regular rail services into London and other parts of the country.
Airports:
Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton are within easy reach.
