The Country

West Sussex Property

Boasting some of the most beautiful countryside in England, over half the county is designated as areas of natural beauty; a new national park is proposed to protect the South Downs. West Sussex has also one of England’s most beautiful and best-preserved coastlines. Property prices, especially of houses in villages tucked away in the Downs, like Graffham for example, reflect the county’s tranquil appeal yet profusion of amenities.

Villages further north and east can be adversely affected by the flighpath from Gatwick. Other desirable homes include town houses in Chichester and some properties dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.

London by road:

Horsham, Crawley and Haywards Heath are less than an hour away via the A3 or A23/M23.

London by rail:

The London (London Bridge and Blackfriars stations) to Brighton mainline includes frequent services to central Sussex towns and Gatwick Airport. There are also links from Pulborough and Billingshurst to Clapham Junction and Waterloo. Residents near the Hampshire border take advantage of the fast and frequent Portsmouth to Waterloo service.

Airports:

Located in the county, Gatwick is the second largest airport in the UK after Heathrow, and the sixth busiest international airport in the world.
